Osprey
Pandion haliaetus
It lives in clear, slow-flowing rivers, preferably lined with trees. It feeds on fish weighing less than half a kilo, sometimes completing its diet with amphibians and small mammals. It nests on cliffs and trees, almost always near water. Inland it winters and breeds mainly on the eastern and southern coasts of the peninsula.
