Zitting Cisticola
Cisticola juncidis
It is a tiny bird, weighing less than 10 grams, profusely striped on the head and back and with a very short black and white-tipped tail. They build their nest in the tall grass, the male and female interweaving the thin stems with spider’s thread to form a bag of silky material, which may also contain sheep’s wool and poplar fluff inside. It lives in grassy areas with grasses of a certain size. It feeds on all kinds of larvae, insects and small and medium-sized spiders, and completes its diet with seeds.
